About
What is South Dakota SBIRT?
South Dakota SBIRT is a network of health care providers, clinics, and hospitals, working together to initiate conversations with patients about risky alcohol and drug use and abuse, and if needed, refer patients for further assessment and/or treatment.
Program Support
The South Dakota SBIRT Program is supported by grant funding through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and administered by the South Dakota Department of Social Services (DSS). The grant is managed and implemented by the DSS Division of Behavioral Health Prevention Program.
